Marts 2013: Gambia Gets First Ever Journalism School

The Gambia’s National Training Authority (NTA) on 11 March 2013 formally accredited the GPU School of Journalism to provide journalism education in the country, an unprecedented development in a country that has never had a formal structure for journalism education.

A 3 year long GPU/GAMES training project for media and communication kicks off in April

Yes, we can. In March GAMES got 2.9 million DKK from Danida’s Project Fund to run a new 3 years long training project in The Gambia. In April the project starts. And we are looking for trainers to go to The Gambia.

December, 2011: Trainees train rural community radio reporters

The GAMES/GPU Professional Reporter Programme is heading for a successful graduation. 12 of the initial 20 participants have passed the first three exams, and they are ready to fight for their final exam and diploma, even though the circumstances are not always optimal.
