You can help

Gambia Media Support is a volunteer organisation, run by volunteers.

The organisations activities are financed by donations, gifts and membership fees as well as by income from the association’s activities.

We are therefore very greateful for all the help we can get.

How can you help?

There are many ways in which you can contribute to the organisations continued work and the media development in Gambia.

1: Become a member
Gambia Media Support appreciates all members – those who are passive and those who are active. But why do we need your membership?

First – to be allowed to apply for funding from the PATC’s Project Fund, the organisation must have a minimum of 50 members. The Project Fund is financed by The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is an extremely important contributor to Gambia Media Support’s project activities in the Gambia.

Second – we need members to actively engage in the organisation’s work – on a one-time-only basis, on particular missions or regularly.

How do I become a member?

2: Become a volunteer
You can make a difference by engaging in Gambia Media Support’s activities – we have projects, big and small, some already running and some waiting to be invented. As an organization based on voluntary work we depend on the spare time and engagement of eager and dedicated members, and the projects are very much created by the active members themselves.

Among the tasks we need help for in Gambia media Support are: Training, New Media, Communication and campaigns, fundraising, project management and much more.

4: Donate IT equipment to Gambian journalists
The Gambian press is short of supplies, and the lack of IT equipment like computers and digital cameras is a setback to the development of their work.

Gambia Media support regularly sends or brings gathered equipment on missions to Gambia. So, if you have a laptop or digital camera, do not hesitate to contact us, and we will make sure it gets safely to our colleagues in the Gambia.
